Plain-language summary. GigTracker is a self-service record-keeping tool, not tax, accounting, legal, or filing advice. Plans are one-time purchases for a selected calendar year and do not auto-renew. You control the records you enter. Important details and limits are below; consumer rights that cannot legally be waived still apply.

1. Operator and contact

GigTracker ("GigTracker," "we," "us," or "our") is operated in Ontario, Canada, by sole proprietor Ruth Salomi Janga. General support, privacy requests, and legal notices may be sent to [email protected].

These Terms form an agreement between the person creating or using the account ("you") and the operator of GigTracker.

2. The service

GigTracker is a Progressive Web App for organizing gig-work earnings, receipts, mileage, vehicles, attachments, storage usage, and downloadable Record Packages by calendar year. It is provided for your convenience and reference. GigTracker does not prepare or file tax returns, verify deductions, determine legal compliance, or replace professional advice.

You need a supported modern browser, internet access for connected features, a working email address, and a device capable of opening the file types you upload or export.

3. Eligibility, accounts, and security

  • You must have the legal capacity to enter this agreement and must provide accurate account information.
  • You are responsible for protecting your password, email account, device, and recovery methods.
  • You must notify us promptly if you reasonably believe your account has been compromised.
  • Accounts are for the registered user and may not be sold, shared as a public account, or used to access another person's records without authority.

4. Calendar-year plans, prices, and promotions

Basic (CA$19.99), Plus (CA$39.99), and Pro (CA$49.99) are one-time purchases that provide the displayed storage allowance and per-file limit for the selected calendar year. They are not subscriptions that automatically renew. Prices are displayed in Canadian dollars before purchase. GigTracker absorbs its own Stripe processing fees and does not add a payment-processing surcharge. GigTracker is not currently registered to collect GST/HST and does not add GST/HST at launch. If that status changes, applicable tax will be disclosed before a future purchase.

Stripe processes payments. GigTracker does not receive or store full card numbers. A plan becomes active only after a valid Stripe Checkout completion is confirmed by our signed webhook. A 100% promotion can complete without collecting a payment method. Promotion codes may have redemption limits, may be deactivated, and have no cash value.

For an active calendar year, only an upgrade to a higher plan is allowed. The upgrade price is the configured difference between the two plan prices. Downgrades for the same active calendar year are not supported.

5. Your records and permission to operate the service

You retain your rights in the information and files you upload. You give us a limited permission to host, copy, transmit, encrypt, back up, restore, and otherwise process that content only as needed to provide, secure, support, and lawfully operate GigTracker. You are responsible for having authority to upload the content and for reviewing the accuracy and completeness of your records and exports.

The retention schedule is described in the Data Retention Policy. Download Record Packages you want to keep independently.

6. Acceptable use

You must not use GigTracker to break the law, infringe rights, distribute malware, probe or bypass security, overload the service, access another user's data, upload prohibited or harmful material, or misrepresent the service as professional tax, legal, or accounting advice. We may restrict access reasonably necessary to protect users, the service, or legal obligations.

7. Availability, changes, and discontinuation

We use reasonable care to operate the service, but uninterrupted or error-free availability is not guaranteed. Maintenance, vendor outages, security events, legal requirements, and circumstances outside reasonable control may interrupt access.

If GigTracker plans to discontinue the service, we will use reasonable efforts to provide at least 30 days' notice by email or in-app notice and a reasonable opportunity to export available records. Urgent security, legal, vendor, or insolvency events may make advance notice or complete export impracticable.

8. Cancellations, refunds, and corrections

Except where required by law or expressly stated before purchase, completed calendar-year plan purchases are final. Contact us promptly about duplicate charges, an incorrect plan, or failure to receive purchased access. Any approved refund may result in the related entitlement being reduced, revoked, or returned to its prior level. Nothing in these Terms limits cancellation, refund, or other rights that applicable consumer law does not permit us to exclude.

9. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

GigTracker is provided on an "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties that may lawfully be excluded. You remain responsible for professional advice, source documents, independent copies, filing decisions, deadlines, and confirming that exports meet your needs.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, GigTracker and its operator are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential loss, including lost profits, lost opportunities, or loss caused by relying on unverified records. For claims that may lawfully be limited, total liability will not exceed the amount you paid for the affected calendar-year plan. This limitation does not apply where prohibited by law, and does not exclude liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. Assignment and business succession

GigTracker may reorganize, incorporate, sell assets, or transfer the service as part of a genuine business transaction. Any successor receiving this agreement or personal information must assume the applicable service, privacy, security, and retention obligations. We will provide notice of a material operator change and any choices required by law. This clause does not retroactively erase liability, waive non-waivable rights, or permit unrelated use of personal information.

11. Policy changes, suspension, and termination

We may update these Terms prospectively. Material changes will be identified by a new version and effective date and, when appropriate, require fresh acceptance. You may stop using the service and request account deletion, subject to the Data Retention Policy. We may suspend or terminate access for material breach, fraud, security risk, unlawful use, non-payment, or where continued service is no longer reasonably possible.

12. Governing law and consumer rights

These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there. Ontario courts have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory right to bring a claim elsewhere. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue. Nothing in these Terms waives a right or remedy that applicable consumer, privacy, or other law does not allow you to waive.
